Schvaneveldt is a name synonymous with the Quarter Horse racing industry. The inaugeral Schvaneveldt Yearling Sale is the natural two-decade progression of Blane Schvaneveldt's association with the highly successful yearling auctions - the Schvanevedlt / Andreini Sale and the Vessels / Schvaneveldt Sale.

Blane Schvaneveldt and his wife Shirley have been involved with Quarter Horses since the 1950's. Shirley is the recipient of the Millie Vessels Memorial Award for her work with Women Behind Racing and the Quarter Horse Benevolant Charity Foundation. Blane has held an unprecidented number of racing titles as a trainer and has received many prestigious awards, including the AQHA Racing Council Special Acheivement Award. He is honored to be inducted into both the AQHA and the Ruidoso Downs Racing Hall of Fame.
